Um...yes it does. Im using an e8400, which is a 45nm processor. the 780i require ddr3, stop misleading people.

Maybe it support's it with the new BIOS.
And 780i don't use DDR3 it uses DDR2
The 790i and the 790i Ultra uses the DDR3

Well, just like alot of the reviews from tigerdirect said the board came DOA after exhausting ALL options, i RMA'd it to EVGA (LOVE that company) they sent me a new one 2 days later, and i hooked it up and it's been running like a champ since. Absolutely LOVE this mobo, although I don't think I'll buy from tigerdirect again. Basically you have to in order to get this board though so just keep in mind if you do you might be paying 112.00 instead of 99.99 after RMA'ing it ;P. seriously, get this.

i bought this mobo refurbished from tigerdirect, really in all honesty i would never buy from tigerdirect again, but am more than happy with this mobo. when i got it from tiger the packaging was terrible, and it was just sitting at the bottom of the box with no cushioning underneath it. the guy at tigerdirect i talked to about buying a mobo fan SEPERATELY told me it didn't come with a mobo fan. (that little fan he clicks in, in this video and was pretty rude about it when i told him there was.

this mobo does support 45nm however you need to flash the bios to make it compatible...

where can i get one of these brand new? i can only find refurbished ones for $99.99 at tigerdirect, and newegg stopped selling them completely apparently. I need a real nice motherboard on the cheap and if a NEW 680i is more than $120 I'll just go with a refurbished from tigerdirect, but I'm kind of disappointed that them and newegg seemed to just completely drop these mobos.

The PCIe 2.0 cards do work on normal PCIe slots, bu the speed is not that of PCIe 2.0 slot, only the 1.0 slot

this does support the new penryn dual core 45 nm processors fully and made better quad core overclocking from 3.2 max to about 3.8-4.0 ghz.
